1. Frost weathering - it is a type of mechanical weathering. When the penetrated water inside the rocks freezes and it expands ultimately leading to increased tension in the rocks and when this ice melts, it reduces tension in the rocks. This expansion and contraction in the rocks caused by the formation of ice in the rocks lead to frost weathering.
