1. Thermal expansion - this type of weathering generally seen in the desert areas where the effect of heat or sun can be observed. The rocks expand in day time due to heat and contract during the night when it loose heat. This expansion and contraction of rocks lead to the cracks in it and make it more susceptible to erosion.
